You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PIPING NUCLEAR INTERNAL SHOP MANAGER in the Pipe Shop (Code 960) Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900), of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.Requirements:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:- Experience serving as a project manager determining, identifying, and providing resolution of changing work situations, operational, and maintenance problems with shipyard work operations, control system requirements and ship's personnel.
- Experience applying administrative knowledge of trade work and technical methods, procedures, materials and processes associated with the repair and overhaul of Navy vessels.
- Experience managing a project or portion of a project involving the directing of federal wage system and general schedule employees.
- Experience in project management, quality control, cost control, schedule control and work flow control techniques to correct negative trends.
- Experience applying Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Federal/State environmental regulations and local instructions that outline requirements for training and qualifications.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
