Description:

You will serve as a Senior Nuclear Engineer in the Nuclear Facilitites and Waste Engineering Division (Code 2380), Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department (Code 2300) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Requirements:

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience applying engineering concepts, theories, principles, practices and techniques related to the design, installation, operation and maintenance of nuclear powered naval vessels, support and auxiliary systems and support facilities.
  • Experience organizing and leading teams to plan and execute complex projects, resolve highly complex technical issues and integrate the work of several support organizations to meet schedule constraint.
  • Experience interpreting/evaluating engineering drawings/specifications/technical data packages as well as the planning/construction of nuclear facilities.
  • Experience providing Submarine Tender support, AS (X) design and Corporate DMD support.
