You will serve as a SUPERVISORY EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST in the Crane Maintenance Division (Code 730), of the Deputy Lifting and Handling Department (Code 701) of the Lifiting and Handling Department (Code 700) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.Requirements:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:- Experience with the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of nuclear and non-nuclear Weight Handling Equipment (WHE).
- Experience understanding regulations and standards, including NAVFAC P-307 and other governing directives related to WHE operations, maintenance, and safety compliance.
- Experience planning and scheduling maintenance activities, including the coordination of inspections, preventive maintenance, corrective actions, and work sequencing in support of WHE maintenance/operations.
- Experience performing and applying cost estimation techniques, evaluate work processes, and develop maintenance strategies and plans for the repair, alteration, and overhaul of WHE.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
