This position is part of the Department of Defense (DoD), Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for serving as the Deputy Directory of Congressional Affairs and reports to the Director of Congressional Affairs.Requirements:
You may qualify at the NH-04 broadband level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below and must meet 3 of the 5 specialized experience listed below to be qualified:
- Experience in processes, procedures, and internal workings of the Congress including how bills are introduced, how they flow through the Committees, and the manner in which they can be amended, stalled, or terminated.
- Working with and across Executive Staffs, Joint Staffs, Commands, Agencies and the Services in the development of the organizations primary mission, goals, and objectives.
- Research, plan, coordinate, and brief actions in support of leadership's goals, objectives, and mission.
- Establish and maintain good interpersonal relations with the MDA Executives and Senior Leaders, and OSW Senior Officials, while effectively presenting, defending against criticism, and gaining understanding of the President's policy on missile defense. Possesses political knowledge by working to assess and promulgate political, fiscal and other factors affecting customer and program/project needs.
- Experience in policy and doctrine aspects of complex weapons programs and the national security policy-making environment. Department of War programs, and Congressional processes.
