This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforc e to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.About the Position: Operates UH-60 rotary wing aircraft and associated flight simulator(s) as an instructor pilot located in Fort Rucker, Alabama.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that includes minimum
eligibility requirements for positions in this occupation based on possession of the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificates and/or appropriate military ratings. Meeting the applicable flight hour requirements and possession of the knowledge and skills required for the position which includes instructing/evaluating rated and non-rated pilots in flight procedures in the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter in tasks such as primary, basic and advanced instrument, combat skills (tactics and terrain techniques) and conducting classroom instruction on training maneuvers and techniques, aircraft systems, and night vision systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
CERTIFICATIONS: This position requires you possess the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Pilot Certificates, FAA Flight Instructor Certificate and/or appropriate military rating. (NOTE: You MUST attach a copy front and back with your application).
MINIMUM FLIGHT HOURS REQUIREMENT:
Total Flight Hours- 1500
Pilot in Command - 250
Night Flying - 75
Flying Time in the Last 12 Months - 100 (may be waived)
Instructor Hours - 500
Instrument Hours - 75
