This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforc e to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Rucker is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) instructing rated and non-rated pilots in maintenance test flight procedures in the UH-60 helicopter; (2) instructing and evaluating pilots in basic and advanced test flight task such as maneuvers, aircraft systems and limitations for the UH-60; (3) conducting classroom instruction concerning the UH-60 aircraft systems and operating procedures; and (4) monitoring standardization requirements, recommend changes in lesson plans, program of instruction, training methods and techniques. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Certifications: This position requires you possess the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Pilot Certificates, FAA Flight Instructor Certificate and/or appropriate military rating. Minimum Flight Hours Requirement:
Total Flight Hours- 1500
Pilot in Command - 250
Night Flying - 75
Flying Time in the Last 12 Months - 100
Instructor Hours - 500
Heavy Helicopter Hours - 500 (Up to 250 hours flying time acquired in heavy multi-engine airplanes may be substituted)
Instrument Hours - 75
