This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) Memorandum, "Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," June 23,2023.This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command, Transportation Command.
Requirements:
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
- Performing research, reviews, and analysis, and conducting development studies of operational issues
- Determining sources of data, plans, and using advanced predictive analysis, data visualization, modeling, machine learning, and data science methods to validate study findings and conclusions
- Utilizing scientific inquiry in the independent development of mathematical models and computer programs to support assigned projects, and studies
In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 1515, series as listed below:
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
