This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for positions in support of the safety of the public, law enforcement, or first response within the DoD designated by the Secretary as a shortage category or critical need occupation to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: Serves as a Police Officer (CLEO) within the Directorate of Emergency Services engaged in Conservation Law Enforcement duties.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized experience: A Police Officer (CLEO) planning, coordinating, and conducting the enforcement program of Federal, State, and installation fish and wildlife regulations, mandating safe hunting and boating activities, conducting marine patrols, conducting surveillance, interviewing and interrogating suspects, collecting evidence into violations of Federal fish and wildlife and environmental laws, enforcing limits of restricted water and land boundaries, and providing information to parties in support of environmental research programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
