This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Public Works, Operations & Maintenance Division, Buildings and Grounds Branch at Fort Riley, KS.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element) : Ability to do the work of a(n) Industrial Equipment Maintenance Worker ~ without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common duties of assisting in repairing heating and/or air conditioning units and systems which contain numerous components and cleaning and /or vacuuming motors and louvers, removing dirt to ensure free airflow through units - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
PHYSICAL EFFORT :The employee uses light to medium physical effort in performing work. The work requires some standing, stooping and walking and lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasionally handles items weighing up to 100 pounds. Climbing stairs, ladders and working from lift platforms.
WORKING CONDITIONS :A majority of the work is performed indoors and in cramped positions. However, some of the work may be performed outside. The incumbent is exposed chemicals when cleaning filters.
