Description:
You will serve as a MECHANICAL SHOP SUPERVISOR in the MECHANICAL SHOP, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.Requirements:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:- Experience developing short- and long-range planning to ensure the equipment, tooling, and manning requirements are met to support ship availability on and off yard.
- Experience monitoring work in progress and upon completion to ensure work is completed on time, with quality and within cost.
- Experience preparing production status reports describing delivery status and forecast, schedule problems or delinquencies, and schedule recovery actions.
- Experience working with representatives of various trades to coordinate, sequence and prioritize production and test effort within the area.
- Experience managing overhaul and repair shop operations through subordinate supervisors of various trades.
