THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0883P01 and is part of the IL DOL, National Guard.
Requirements:
AREA OF CONSIDERATION : The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence,
- The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.
- The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees.
- The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible.
- The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership.
- The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens.
Military Grades : Enlisted/Warrant Officer/Officer - E6-O4
GENERAL EXPERIENCE : MUST possess experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7 Level. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : GS-11 Level MUST possess at least 1-year equivalent to at least GS-9; experience supervising and/or managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions; knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system; experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues; experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions. GS-9 Level MUST possess at least 1-year equivalent to at least GS-7; experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc; experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment; knowledge of supply functions, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures; experience in cost estimates, budgets, or funding management; experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support; experience requiring person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc. GS-7 Level MUST possess at least 1-year equivalent to at least GS-5; experience analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognize solutions; experience planning and organizing work; experience in communicating effectively orally and in writing.
