This vacancy is for a GS - 2101 - 14, Supervisor of Course Approvals Branch located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, NMC MARINER COURSE APPROVALS BRANCH in MARTINSBURG, West Virginia.Requirements:

To qualify at the GS- 14 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.
- Experience interpreting and implementing regulation and policy
- Management level experience with merchant vessel operations and maintenance
- Developing and evaluating the effectiveness of technical and management training
- Evaluating process efficiency
- Experience sailing under the authority of the credential endorsement reflected in the Selective Placement Factor (below)
NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.

Applicant must hold or have held a U.S. Merchant Mariner credential in the grade of Master, Any Gross Tons on Oceans or Chief Engineer of Unlimited Horsepower, including international Standards of Training Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers certification
