Requirements:
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 01/29/2026.Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 01/29/2026.
Selective Placement Factor: You must have completed a formal USG accredited Counterintelligence (CI) credentialing course and/or a Human Intelligence (HUMINT) accredited training program. This experience must be documented in your resume. Failure to do so may result in an ineligible rating.
GS-12: You qualify at the GS-12 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
- Provide support during the conduct of national security and counterintelligence investigations;
- Develop and deliver Counterintelligence Awareness Training;
- Collect, evaluate, analyze, and disseminate information on suspicious incidents, activities, and threats; And
- Preparing intelligence reports, briefings, and executive summaries of investigations and operations.
- Investigate potential counterintelligence threats and recommend appropriate investigative plans and strategies necessary to counter Foreign Intelligence Entity efforts;
- Lead agency efforts to detect national security threats and facilitate multi-jurisdictional law enforcement and intelligence community support; and
- Conduct investigative activities involving national security matters (espionage) and associated Federal criminal violations;
- Advise senior level executives and managers on policy development related to counterintelligence and national security issues.
