THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.This National Guard position is for a FIREFIGHTER (CREW CHIEF-DRIVER OPERATOR) (TITLE 5), Position Description Number NGT6315000 and is part of the TN 134th ARW, Air National Guard.
This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 114 (Smoky Mountain Chapter).
Requirements:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Work experience or military service that demonstrated the ability to follow directions and to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures and that otherwise demonstrates the ability to perform or learn to perform the duties of the position.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must possess at least one year of specialized experience or equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-05), in the Federal service in the normal line of progression for the occupation. Experience that demonstrated the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Such duties may include (1) controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department or brigade; (2) rescue operations; (3) detection, reduction, or elimination of potential fire hazards; (4) operation of fire communications equipment; (5) controlling hazardous materials incidents and/or (6) developing, implementing, or providing training in fire protection and prevention. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; and, experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
Employee is required to be certified by the DoD Firefighter Certification System, the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or the Pro Board.

Apparatus Driver Operator- Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting,

Water Supply (MWS)*. National Registry or State of Tennessee Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
