Description:

This vacancy is for a GS-0203-7, Human Resources Assistant located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, PPC ADVANCEMENTS BRANCH in TOPEKA, Kansas.

Requirements:

To qualify at the GS- 07 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

  • Ability to comprehend military advancements, evaluations and other HR data, using policy, laws and regulations, to identify errors and perform accurate corrective actions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, often explaining complex policies tactfully.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to discover and address unique cases and data discrepancies.
  • Using Microsoft programs not limited to Office, Word, Excel, Access, PeopleSoft and other applications as needed.
  • Making suggestions to supervisor as requested concerning all processes.
