Description:

You will serve as a Lead Mail Assistant of NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF.

Requirements:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating knowledge and experience of Federal and/or US Postal System regulations and policies in order to process, coordinate and oversee all inbound and outbound mail to include various categories of mail such as registered, certified, insured, and special handling. Specialized experience also includes a practical knowledge and experience applying methods and techniques of mail management to gather, analyze and evaluate information concerning administrative functions and mail management processes in order to make recommendations to improve program processes, as well as implement and provide necessary training related to the day-to-day mail operations. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Ensures that mail is delivered and picked up to/from authorized addresses, agents and serving mail or postal activities, and that mail matter is not delayed, intercepted, opened, rifled, seized or confiscated; 2) Apply a knowledge of United States Postal Service, Department of the Navy and Department of Defense directives, regulations, laws and practices and the ability to interpret and apply directives and regulations to the everyday operation of the mail facility; 3) Ability to certify and operate a variety of mechanical, manual and electronic mail handling and processing equipment; 4) Maintain automated mail management and/or inventory records and collect and maintain data for preparation of reports; 5) Perform mail process ranging from mail directory service, clearly identifiable material to vague addresses/general and specialized subject-matter requiring research and review; and 6) Provide on-the-job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices.
