The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a subject matter expert in Vendor Threat Mitigation (VTM) to provide threat mitigation in commercial support to operations; coordinate with requiring activities to ensure all prime vendors seeking contracts and performing or delivering in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility (AOR) to be vetted prior to receiving a contract.

Requirements:

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Group Standard for Administrative & Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level (or equivalent in other pay systems) in the federal service in which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience which includes mitigating threats from vendors in support of commercial operations and leveraging intelligence, counterintelligence, law enforcement, open-source, financial, and contract information to produce an integrated and comprehensive threat risk analysis.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of Vendor Threat Mitigation, and the standard practices, methods, and techniques of the occupation sufficient to perform difficult, but well-precedented assignments.

2. Knowledge of analysis, evaluation, fact-finding, and investigative techniques to gather data, identify significant factors, and recommend a solution from a number of possible alternatives.

3. Knowledge of the occupation to perform studies and prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence to communicate factual and procedural information clearly.

4. Skill in applying the principles, concepts, and practices of the occupation sufficient to perform moderately difficult assignments.

5. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers and management.

6. Ability to learn and apply analytical investigative techniques to accomplish work in subject-matter field.


PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This position is designated as Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. As a mandatory requirement for employment, the incumbent is to refrain from the use of illegal drugs and if requested, submit to urinalysis testing. Appointee must sign a statement acknowledging the position occupied is a TDP.

This position is designated as a key position IAW AFI 36-507. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations. Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available.
