This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Emergency Services, Fort Campbell, KY.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized Experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Experience instructing firefighting personnel on methods and procedures utilizing knowledge of principles in teaching; 2) Experience directing subordinates to suppress fires on Structural and fire emergencies, respond to Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) incidents, and direct crews on emergency medical incidents; and 3) Experience inspecting fire protection systems, fire detection systems and fire safety equipment to ensure proper operation.
Selective Placement Factor: In addition to the specialized experience required to qualify for the GS-09 level you must also possess and maintain ALL the following Department of Defense (or reciprocal equivalent) certification, certified through DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification System, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or the Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (PRO-Board) in accordance with DoD 6055.06-M.
