THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.This National Guard position is for a AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SPECIALIST (TERMINAL), Position Description Number T5825700 and is part of the LA ANG 259TH AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SQUADRON, National Guard.
Requirements:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Must possess at least a High school or general equivalent degree? An undergraduate academic specialization in a technical discipline with courses in administration and management is desirable. Must possess a graduation certificate from a formal DoD/DoT Basic Air Traffic Control Course.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : ???????Must possess at least Twelve (12) months of experience equivalent to at least GS-09 or GS-10 ~OR~ Do you possess at least Thirty-Six (36) months of experience performing regular duties in terminal operations, issuing control instructions to aircraft operating under visual or instrument flight rules or combinations of both; experience in a military or civilian ATC Tower as a rated air traffic control watch supervisor/senior controller/controller in charge is preferred; includes managing shift/facility manning, briefing shift personnel on runway utilization, airfield conditions, weather/ground activities and preparing and updating flight following strips; preparing and updating flight following maps; and in performing some shift supervision duties in a tactical or fixed tower, radar, or AIC ~AND~ Are you able to obtain and maintain a facility-rating in a single ATC facility (Radar Final Control (RFC)/Ground Controlled Approach (GCA)/Control Tower (CTO). Must be able to obtain and maintain the National Weather Service's Limited Aviation Weather Reporting Stations (LAWRS) certification.
