This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.About the Position: Serves as Chief, Engineering Division for the Seattle District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Using knowledge of professional engineering theory, practices and methodology, the incumbent serves as a key staff advisor to the District Engineer.

In addition to meeting at least one of the basic requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:1) directing aspects of program planning, resourcing, policy guidance and execution of engineering programs; and 2) formulating solutions to complex design and engineering issues; AND a current registration as a Professional Engineer OR Registered Architect License in a state, the District of Columbia, or a territory of the United States. (You must upload a copy of the current registration with your application). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
