Description:
This position is located in the Recreational Services Division and reports to the Chief of Resident Services. The incumbent is to serve as supervisor of the Recreation Department, with responsibility for the overall diverse programming, financial and personnel management of the division's facilities and programs offered to the Home residents, employees and guests.Requirements:
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.CERTIFICATION: Applicants must currently possess and maintain a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential, issued by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
AND
Specialized Experience for the GS- 12: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service . Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Creating, implementing and advertising a wide range of recreational programs in a healthcare environment; AND
- Establishing and operating a financial budget with numerous cost centers; AND
- Overseeing staff (e.g. develop performance standards, disciplinary issues, and/or schedules)
SPECIAL NOTE: Long-term care experience and/or interacting with geriatric patients is highly desired.
