The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:
  • Professional registration or licensure - Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Ordinarily there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience required: One full year of specialized experience which includes experience planning, directing, managing and coordinating efforts of engineering personnel, contractors, subcontractors, government agencies and other budget and programming personnel for large scale facility construction and renovation; assessing and implementing strategies and actions affirming the integrity, economy, quality, and effectiveness of engineering programs for an organization; and advocating recommendations, strategies, and actions to reconcile or resolve novel, conflicting, or controversial engineering issues or policies.
