Description:

You will serve as an ELECTRICIAN SUPERVISOR I in the TEMPORARY SERVICES SHOP, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

***APPOINTMENT TYPE: TEMPORARY PROMOTION NOT TO EXCEED 1 YEAR AND MAY BECOME PERMANENT WITHOUT FURTHER COMPETITION***

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

• Planning the division of workload among subordinates based on capabilities of assigned and available employees, materials and equipment, and taking necessary corrective action to avoid delays.
• Requisitioning tools, materials and equipment needed, determining the most efficient use of these items.
• Interpreting blueprints and preparing layouts, patterns, and sketches.
• Overseeing the use of safety equipment.
• Adhering to non-nuclear and/or nuclear guidelines, such as the Nuclear Power Manuals, Radiological Controls for Shipyard, Radiological Work Practices Handbook to perform duties.
