This position is located in the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), and is based in Aurora CO. The Seattle- Denver Center or Innovation (COIN) for Veteran- Centered and Value Driven Care is a VHA Office of Research & Development (ORD).Requirements:

- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
A. Education: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
Grade Determinations :
GS-14: In addition to meeting the Individual Occupation Requirements (IOR) above, applicants must have one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
- Participated in data science and statistical analyses initiatives to manage research programs to include resource and performance management, and dissemination of results
- Served in role as statistical analyst who managed data science analysis, planned activities, and executed program requirements.
- Applied expert knowledge on at least one statistical programming software such as, R, SAS, STATA; and software for large data analytics programs plus SQL, Microsoft Access
- Applied expert knowledge on the application of theories, principles, methods, and techniques of statistics/data management schemas
- Proficient on managing research data, oversight of resources, developed, implemented and monitored performance
- Managed protocol designs, statistical analysis plans, data collection, extraction, and management plans.
- Experience in human research related to Health Services Research (HRS) programs.

The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-14.
Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary and does not require and special physical effort. Some periods of walking, standing, and bending. Driving a motor vehicle may be required. Employees frequently carry research records and other similar materials.
