This position is located in the Transportation Section of the Engineering Service at VA Hudson Valley Health Care System - Franklin Delano Roosevelt Hospital in Montrose, NY. The Motor Vehicle Operator is responsible for providing all transportation assistance to the medical center, which include transporting patients and family members, supplies equipment, construction material, office and hospital furniture, and clean linen and uniforms.Requirements:

Note : A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Light physical effort is required in reaching, bending, turning, or moving arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls of motor vehicles. Physical effort is exerted in operating, turning, backing, and controlling heavier vehicles. Work requires standing on hard surfaces for extended periods of time; bending, stooping, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May lift and carry items that weigh up to 50 pounds or more. Heavier items are moved with weight-handling equipment or with assistance from others. Forklift operation requires moderate physical effort in operating hand and foot controls.
