Description:

This position is assigned to the FFSC; FFR; CNIC; Naval Base Coronado. The purpose of the position is to serve as the point of contact to coordinate sexual assault response when reported at the installation. The applicant serves as the designated program manager of sexual assault and sexual harassment victim support services, oversees local implementation and execution of the SAPR Program, and ensures comprehensive victim services are provided through a coordinated community response.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a four-year degree in behavioral health, social science, or criminal justice.
  • Three years of experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral health or social sciences equivalents to a major in the field OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above
  • Experience with the Navy SAPR program preferred
  • Must have the ability and skill to provide effective trainings and briefings
  • The ability to maintain accurate statistics for program data collection and reports
  • Must have the ability to understand, be sensitive to, and have empathy for victims; must have the ability to develop trusting helping relationships and to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Must have the ability to intervene in crisis situations, using sound professional judgment, ethical practice and common sense
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with military and civilian medical, social service, law enforcement and legal personnel on behalf of victims
  • Must be skilled in written and verbal communication; and have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and use of office software applications and equipment
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English
