This position is located at Departmental Offices,International Affairs within the Office of International Affairs (IA). As a Supervisory International Economist, you advise and assist senior Treasury officials in formulating and executing policies and programs related to international economic, development, financial, and monetary fields, have strong written and oral communication skills, and enjoy complex and challenging issues.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service . Specialized Experience for this position includes:

-Independently planning and conducting economic research and analysis used by senior officials to help develop policies or strategies for economic development in various countries or regions of the world; AND

-Developing policy or strategy recommendations for senior officials regarding macroeconomic, financial market, international trade or development; AND

-Building consensus positions through international negotiations with U.S. interagency or international bodies; AND

-Communicating information, both orally and written, regarding relevant economic issues or legislation to senior or high ranking officials inside and outside the government.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service . Specialized Experience for this position includes:

-Leading or coordinating macroeconomic or financial analysis teams or groups; AND

-Formulating policy or strategy recommendations that will advance work in financial market, international trade, investment, development finance, or multilateral development; AND

-Communicating information, both orally and written, regarding relevant economic issues or legislation.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15 , you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-14 , you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.

TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
