About the Position: The U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY is an academic institution located in the Hudson River Valley, 50 miles from New York City. The historic site is the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. West Point is a self-contained city with housing, a Department of Public Works, libraries, hospital, fire department, chapels, and restaurants. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Preparing executive correspondence and/or reports using automated systems and/or workflows; AND 2) Communicating complex information to effectively engage diverse internal and external audiences; AND 3 ) Creating web content in alignment with established accuracy, accessibility, and style guidelines; AND 4) Managing digital media assets in accordance with approved messaging and release requirements; AND 5) Selecting visual assets to strengthen storytelling in accordance with quality and compliance guidelines . This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
