About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC) in Tacoma, WA.This is a direct hire solicitation.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an MAINTENANCE MECHANIC without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the full range of maintenance and repair activities at a Medical Facility to include replacing floors, ceilings and or walls, maintaining electronic and conventional locks. I am skilled in the use and operation of common hand and power tools and measuring devices of the carpentry, masonry, roofing, engraving, plumbing and painting trades to perform a variety of tasks in performing maintenance of buildings and facilities. I also am skilled in the operation and repair of a motor vehicles, performing spot checks and preventative maintenance. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- Work involves walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, stooping, bending, and climbing. Work may be done in awkward and cramped positions. Frequently lifts objects weighting up to 70 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds -
- Works outside and inside in heat, cold, excessive humidity, excessive dampness or chilling weather. Works on concrete floors, work is noisy, dirty, smoky, and involves exposures to fumes, gases, solvents, grease and oils, Works in areas where slippery or uneven walking surfaces are present including ladders or scaffolding. Exposed to cuts, bruises and falls from ladders. Works around machinery, objects or vehicles with moving parts. -
- Subject to work in confined space and with hazardous waste and hazardous material.
