MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military grade in the Alabama Army National Guard. GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of equipment maintenance work, or skill in reading engineering drawings and specifications, using test instruments, making computations, and keeping records. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (as stated above) that provided experience, education or training applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment, facility, or service operations sufficient in designing projects or planning assignments. Experience using well-established occupational methods and techniques to determine facility, grounds, equipment overhaul, maintenance, restoration, repair needs, etc.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
-- Practical knowledge of, and skill in applying, principles, concepts, and methods involving maintenance equipment, facilities, and service operations.
-- Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methods of maintenance management sufficient to provide advice, assistance, and guidance to shop personnel.
-- Knowledge of the full range of maintenance shop standards, policies, regulations, and methods sufficient to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of maintenance management, repair, and training; and the need for improving existing practices that impact the overall maintenance program.
-- Knowledge of and ability to oversee maintenance management programs, material readiness programs, cost reduction programs, and maintenance shop practices.
-- Ability to facilitate and/or offer classroom training, as needed.
