Who May Apply:

• Current, permanent DFAS employees in the competitive service and current DFAS VRA employees in the local commuting area and eligible DoD PPP Military Spouse preference applicants.
• This announcement will be used to fill positions with an entry grade of GS-7, or GS-8 with a target grade of GS-8.

This job announcement uses the Subject Matter Expert Panel Assessment to evaluate applicants.

Requirements:

Human Resources will determine your qualifications for each entry grade level based on your interest and the additional following criteria. Resumes for federal government positions need more detailed work descriptions and accomplishments than a typical private sector resume. Please be sure to clearly describe this in your resume. Combinations of education and experience may also be sufficient..

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-06 for GS-07 and GS-07 for GS-08) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

GS-07: Specialized Experience Is Defined As:

• Maintaining accounting or financial ledgers, posting financial transactions, preparing accounting reports, reconciling accounts, and working with a variety of accounting and financial automated systems.

Time-in-Grade GS-07:

• Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.
• To be considered for the GS-07, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher in the Federal service.

GS-08: Specialized Experience Is Defined As:

• Processing and auditing complex contracts and vendor pay entitlement transactions, reconciling pay system and financial system data and working with a variety of electronic systems to review and resolve pay transaction issues.

Time-in-Grade GS-08:

• Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.
• To be considered for the GS-08, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher in the Federal service.
