Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting with general surgery procedures such as orthopedic, obstetric or gynecologic, vascular, reconstructive, urology, neurosurgery, and trauma type procedures; 2) Preparing equipment and instruments within sterile field while maintaining aseptic techniques; 3) Screening patient medical history; and 4) Disposing of soiled and/or contaminated materials post-procedure. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
