The Air University's Air War College invites applications from qualified individuals for a faculty position as Professor of Leadership and Warfighting in the Department of Leadership and Warfighting. The position is responsible for educating military and civilian Senior Developmental Education students at the Air War College by developing curriculum, teaching, and conducting research in the areas of warfighting, airpower, and strategic leadership.Requirements:
- Broad knowledge of the subject matter that comprises the AWC curriculum and deep knowledge of the curriculum related to operational planning and warfighting.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with graduate-level faculty and exercise peer leadership in working with senior and mid-level college leadership in the development of senior leader development programs.
- Teaching experience at the graduate level, including the ability to develop curriculum and present the material at the graduate level.
- Ability to conduct original research.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a wide range of diverse people and groups.
- Because of the senior nature of the AWC program, incumbent may be required to teach within other areas of the school's curriculum
- Extensive operational experience on a Joint, Combatant Command, Joint Task Force, or Service staff using the Operational Design Methodology and Joint Planning Process is highly desired.
