Description:

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: Serve as a Fire Protection Inspector for an Installation.

This position is included under the provisions of Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) and may have both a maximum entry age and a mandatory retirement date.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing, implementing, providing training in fire protection and prevention, to include detection, reduction, and/or elimination of potential fire hazards.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Firefighter Certifications:
  • Fire Fighter I and II,
  • Fire Officer I,
  • Fire Inspector I and II,
  • Fire Instructor I,
  • HAZMAT Material Technician
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT ) NOTE: (Emergency medical certification must be issued by the State or National Registry). Maybe selected for the position with current State Emergency Medical Technician but has six months from date of employment to transfer to National Registry Emergency Medical Technician. Employee must maintain current Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider(CPR and AED) certification card.
