SURFACE MAINTENANCE MANAGER (TITLE 32)

Description:

This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MANAGER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1249000 and is part of the FL JFHQ, National Guard.

Requirements:

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1 & 3 Only. Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard.

PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

Recruitment / Relocation : Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation.

MILITARY GRADES: Officer: O5 ONLY

GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Must have experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of equipment maintenance work, or skill in reading engineering drawings and specifications, using test instruments, making computations, and keeping records. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : GS13. Must possess 1-year of experience comparable in scope and responsibility to next lower grade in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sector). This experience must include activities such as applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment, facility, or service operations sufficient in planning assignments; experience using well-established occupational methods and techniques to determine facility, grounds, equipment overhaul, maintenance, restoration, repair needs; experience in determination of resource needs, allocation of resources, and budgeting/funding needs; experience in human resources management policy matters affecting the entire organization, with personnel actions affecting key employees to include experience coordinating work forces and resources and negotiating with management or clients concerning problems; experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
