Description:
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) Chief Operating Officer (COO) administers the Director of National Intelligence (DNI's) vision and direction to the ODNI enterprise. This includes synchronizing policy, plans, procedures, and cross-functional issues. The COO oversees all ODNI business operations, including such areas as human resources, internal policies, finance and budget, information technology, security, facilities, and information management.Requirements:
Basic knowledge in designing, inspecting, and testing, fire alarm/detection systems, water-based systems, and special hazard systemsKnowledge in evaluating fire protection programs for a diverse range of operations and activities.
Ability to recognize hazards and identify controls and mitigation strategies
Ability to independently identify and research problems, and apply a body of knowledge of fire protection engineering and building codes, laws, policies, regulations, and standards.
Ability to prepare reports and follow-up inspections that apply to life safety, fire alarm/detection, water-based, and/or special hazard systems.
Good critical thinking and problem solving skills, including the ability to interpret complex information from multiple sources
Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, construction specifications, and other facilities documents, and make informed decisions regarding the interpretations of this information.
Basic knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910. and of other safety regulations commonly set by OSHA, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and related agencies.
Basic knowledge of building codes, laws, policies, regulations, and standards for fire protection; current developments and strategies in fire protection engineering; techniques and procedures applied by practitioners in fire protection engineering.
Desired Requirements:
Experience: Generally, one to three years of experience in fire protection
Education: Degree in Fire Protection Engineering from an ABET accredited program or Degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program.
Certifications/Licenses: Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.
