IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC)

Description:

This position is part of the Defense Microelectronics Activity, Defense Microelectronics Activity. The incumbent performs work enabling the DMEA IT Cyber Assurance branch to execute its mission by protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of DMEA's information and information systems.

Requirements:

You may qualify at the NH-03, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) grade level in the Federal service as listed below:

1. Experience in a position covered by the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (https://www.cyber.mil/dod-workforce-innovation-directorate/dod-cyber-workforce-framework) or equivalent;
2. Implementing, developing, contributing to, or authoring cybersecurity policies;
3. Overseeing or conducting key concepts in security management (e.g. Patch Management) and basic system administration, network, and operating system hardening techniques;
4. Implementing or managing cybersecurity related projects or initiatives;
5. Monitoring external data to maintain currency of cyber defense threat condition and determine which security issues may have an impact on the enterprise.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
