Description:

About the Position: Located in the Department of Special Assistants, Public Affairs and Strategic communications. It is located in an office setting but will require engagement with staff and attendance at various organizational meetings and functions, includes walking to various offices throughout the MTF. Parking at WRNMMC is very limited and is primarily first come, first serve. The use of commuting alternatives is highly recommended. Telework situational in accordance with agency policy.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing complex public affairs duties to include: directing command public affairs initiatives; coordinating and implementing public affairs communications, plans, policies and procedures; preparing/presenting speeches and briefings; writing and disseminating articles; identifying and resolving a variety of complex public affairs issues and/or problems; providing advice and guidance to senior leadership on all public affairs issues; and exercising supervisory responsibilities such as assigning work, setting priorities, providing feedback, and evaluating performance of staff engaged in public affairs functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
