Specialized Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience is defined as: administering comprehensive security programs to protect sensitive and classified information; OR implementing security policies, managing special access programs, and utilizing a variety of security systems and devices; OR proven track record of ensuring compliance through regular assessments, resolving security incidents with corrective actions, and providing expert guidance on security principles and practices.
Volunteer Experience : Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
