EDUCATION - Undergraduate and Graduate Education:
Major study -- commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position.
or
Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.
or
Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes planning the preparation and use of photographs, illustrations, drawings, and other artwork, charts, diagrams, dioramas, maps, slides, overlays, and other kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means.
AND
To qualify at the GS- 12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.
- Develop a wide range of specialized video and photographic equipment techniques, and processes used for imagery and video
production; - Ability to transfer video into various formats and edit video using software such as Final cut, Premiere and DVD authoring into a high-quality finished technology;
- Provide technical guidance in the application of advanced photographic and video methods, techniques, and equipment to internal and external stakeholders;
- Oversee production planning to review and ensure that all project requirements, to include shooting locations, schedules, security requirements, logistical needs, and special photographic requirements with the team are met.
NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for specialized experience at this grade level.
