Description:
The Systems and Network Administrator conducts and oversees the court unit's information and technology networks and systems. The incumbent performs server troubleshooting and triage during service failure scenarios, participates in intense investigations to determine the root cause and develops corrective actions. The incumbent ensures effective and efficient server maintenance, operations workflows and practices. Improves availability and performance of systems, and dependent environments.Requirements:
To qualify for the CL-28 level, the applicant must have two years of specialized experience, or completion of a master's degree or two years of graduate study (27 semester or 54 quarter hours) in an accredited university in business or public administration, political science, criminal justice, law, or other fields closely related to the subject matter of the position.To qualify for the CL-29 level, you must have two years of specialized experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Progressively responsible experience that is in, or closely related to, the work of the position that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Incumbent must have specialized experience in the following:
- Communicating technical information effectively (orally and in writing) to end users in a manner that they comprehend.
- Using the latest available electronic technology and hardware and software programs.
- Implementing, operating, and documenting information technology systems considering both hardware and software issues.
- Performing software and hardware maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of automated systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with customers at all levels, providing superior customer service and resolving difficulties while complying with regulations, rules, and procedures.
- Exhibiting dependability, accountability and commitment.
- Displaying professionalism, confidentiality, high integrity, and sound ethics and judgement.
- Exhibiting excellent organizational skills and experience handling multiple tasks at once.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Court Operations: Knowledge of or the ability to learn court operations, functions, and organizational structure.
- Information Technology, Security and Automation : Knowledge and some experience in the theories, principles, practices and techniques of network administration and security, IT networks, network traffic, computer hardware and software, and data communications. Ability to identify security risk. Some knowledge of anti-malware and endpoint security controls. Thorough understanding of IT policies and procedures.
- Judgment and Ethics: Ability to consistently demonstrate sound ethics and judgment, maintain court confidentiality and security requirements, and comply with the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees.
- Written and Oral Communication: Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate (orally and in writing) to individuals and groups to provide information, exceptional customer service and resolve difficulties while complying with regulations, rules, and procedures. Skill in translating and documenting technical terms into non-technical language. Skill in training non-automation personnel in automation techniques and processes. Ability to provide and exchange accurate and timely information with individuals within and outside the court.
