This position is located under the Executive Director for Security Integration & Technology (EDSIT), leading the Red Team of PFPA. As part of the portfolio, the EDSIT pilots, integrates, tests and evaluates, new security technologies and programs. The Red Team provides a wide range of physical security support for all major projects within SITD and conducts tests and assessments of DoW organizations and facilities within the NCR for the purpose of evaluating compliance with DoW directives.Requirements:
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:- The employee assigned to this position is designated as a MISSION ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE. Mission essential employees may be required to report for, or remain at, work in dismissal or closure situations due to adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, or other emergency situations ( e.g., building closure due to power outage) causing disruptions of government operations, and are required to maintain contact with their supervisor during any dismissal or closure situation unless specifically excused by their supervisor.
- This position is indexed as requiring the Security Fundamentals DoW Certification in accordance with DoW 3305.13-M, DoW Security Accreditation and Certification. The employee must obtain the required certification within two years of entering on duty in this position. This certification requirement only applies to employees hired or reassigned into this position on or after March 14, 2016.
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to:
- Identifying security deficiencies, vulnerabilities, and corrective actions during formal survey inspections, oversight, and security assistance visits; and
- Applying the technical fundamentals of security technologies in support of critical infrastructure assessments; and
- Developing comprehensive reports on security infrastructure; and
- Applying application of new theories and developments for resolving complex security problems.

ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: Federal agencies treat active duty service member as veterans, disabled veterans, and preference eligible, when they submit, as part of their application package, a "certification" of active service in lieu of a DD-214, indicating the service member is otherwise eligible and will be discharged or released within 120 days from the date of submission.. Active duty members that fail to provide a valid "certification" of service with their initial application will be found "not eligible".
