Lead Accountant

The Budget and Accounting Division at NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) is currently seeking a highly qualified candidate to serve as a Lead Accountant. This position is responsible for overseeing the Working Capital Fund (WCF) activities for NSSC, National Center for Critical Information Processing and Storage (NCCIPS) and Information Technology (IT) Business Services functions using accepted accounting practices and federal regulations.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:

• Providing guidance and recommendations on accounting functions and controls to aid policy development and implementation;
• Leading or serving on special teams or projects to enhance and oversee financial activities for accounting and/or financial systems and controls;
• Developing reports on contractual status, quarterly and annual reports, and general ledger accounts for essential financial information and priority projects.
