Utility Systems Repairer-Operator

Description:

This career/career-conditional appointment is located in Shenandoah National Park, in the Facilities Management Division, Water/Wastewater Branch. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the lead operator for the Loft Mountain Wastewater Treatment Plant (located near Skyline Drive mile-marker 80) performing water and wastewater treatment duties.

Requirements:

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualifications System for Trades and Labor Occupations (X-118-C) will be used in determining applicants' qualifications. There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, you must be able to demonstrate through the experience shown in your written resume and your responses to the questionnaire that you possess the competencies to perform the duties of this position without more than normal supervision.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:

4. Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc.

SCREEN OUT: Performs the full range of water and wastewater treatment duties in compliance with state and federal regulations and that included operating and maintaining a wastewater treatment plant with pretreatment, primary, secondary and tertiary processes to achieve a maximum efficiency of treatment. Applicants must possess and maintain a current Virginia Water Works Class 6 License or higher and a current Virginia Wastewater Class 4 License or higher. You MUST include a copy of licenses.
