Description:
You will serve as an Administrative Support Assistant (OA) in the Administrative/Technical Support Staff (130S), Quality Assurance Department (130) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.Requirements:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:- Experience performing timekeeping duties and processing travel requests.
- Experience utilizing office automation systems to perform word processing duties and prepare narratives, charts, graphs, and handouts for briefings and presentations.
- Experience effectively communicating both orally and in writing and exercising sound judgement in the accurate exposition of facts, to resolve complex problems and make appropriate recommendations to management.
- Experience composing correspondence and reports observing the appropriate correspondence formats, forms, routing, and usual terminology, broad knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Experience using tact and diplomacy in dealing with the various levels of department and shipyard managers/supervisors and employees.
- Experience working independently, accepting responsibility, being resourceful and exercising sound judgement.
- Experience applying Security regulations to include the handling of classified information, safe/security program, etc.
