To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-14 .
Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Experience directing security personnel in planning, developing and carrying out a series of personnel, information and physical security, operational security (OPSEC), and emergency management programs;
- Experience establishing policy, procedures and controls to ensure the physical protection of facility resources against criminal, terrorist, or hostile intelligence activities;
- Experience delegating work and evaluating performance of security personnel; providing training on equipment and security systems; investigating criminal activities, and ensuring the safety of staff and visitors while on facility property; and
- Experience communicating with all levels of individuals to provide consistent information and present, explain, and defend controversial security policies and regulations.
