Description:

You will serve as a Public Affairs Supervisor for US Small Business Administration (SBA), Disaster Policy, Planning, and Partnerships Division in Washington, District of Columbia. This position reports to the Director of Policy, Planning, Partnerships, and Public Affairs Division and is responsible for the planning, initiation, coordination and oversight of all ODR&R communications and public affairs.


Requirements:

GS-14 : To qualify you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-13 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a Non-Federal service position. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Assess and lead a diverse team, with experience in the following: 1) establishing work assignments; 2) managing workload balance; 3) and evaluating staff performance; and
  • Coordinate with internal leadership, agency partners, and community stakeholders to obtain feedback to be used in the development and implementation of effective messaging content, tools, and techniques; and
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to inform and engage diverse audiences on agency programs, policies, and initiatives; and
  • Coordinate timely information to appropriate officials, media outlets, and staff throughout the course of a disaster declaration; and
  • Provide technical editing/review of complex products for a national audience; and
  • Translate complex policy and technical information into clear, accessible language for public consumption ensuring alignment with agency mission and federal communication standards.

TIME-IN-GRADE : If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next lower grade level than the position being filled.
