You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (DATA MANAGEMENT) in the INFORMATION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of the NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.Requirements:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.- Experience and knowledge of establishing data security controls; database management systems and performance, query language, table relationships, and views.
- Experience and knowledge monitoring, managing and enhancing the Command enterprise level applications and related databases that respond to the day-to-day and strategic requirements of the NWC.
- Experience with computer networking concepts and protocols, and application and database security methodologies and networking standards, IT security concepts, standards, and methods to integrate security solutions into the design, development, configuration, integration and management of applications and related databases components comprising NWC IT.
- Experience and knowledge of programming languages (such as SQL, Visual Basic, Java) and front-end applications to access the databases using web technology.
- Experience in program development: detailed specification of database program coding; specification of program flow and logic; developing database test plans; testing and validation databases; preparing software documentation. etc.
- Experience and knowledge of database and web development employing a wide range of knowledge of various computer techniques including database conversions and linking web and database applications.
- Experience with strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports, present findings, provide training on new or changed procedures to present to management.
