This position is that of Chief, Resident Services which is a senior-level management position located at the Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH), Gulfport. The Chief, Resident Services reports to and receives general direction from the Director, AFRH-Gulfport. The Director provides broad policy guidance to the Chief, Resident Services. The incumbent is appointed by the Director subject to the approval of the AFRH Chief Operating Officer.Requirements:
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.Specialized Experience for the GS-14 level : You must have at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 level in the federal service that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Specialized experience is
defined as:
- Applying management techniques and methodologies in the development of programs in a Senior Living environment, such as admissions, recreation services, food services, chaplain programs, and volunteer programs; AND
- Providing administrative direction in a Senior Living environment, to include: budget development and management, recruiting and staffing, authorizing personnel actions, conducting performance reviews, and conducting grievance resolution.
SPECIAL NOTE: Long-term care experience and/or interacting with geriatric patients is highly desired.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
