QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-3700 Metal Processing Family. WG 3705 series dated May 1969. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is ability to do the work under normal supervision.JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
- Ability to locate component/part deficiencies and recommend resolution.
- Knowledge of safety and security requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations and technical orders.
- Knowledge of tool, equipment, and materials accounting and security.
- Knowledge of USAF Technical Order program and its procedures.
- Knowledge of requirements and skill in the use of SOAP and COBRA.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy lifting (45-79 pounds). Moderate lifting (15-44 pounds). Light lifting (under 15 pounds). Moderate carrying (15-44
pounds). Light carrying (under 15 pounds). One hour per week of straight pulling. One hour per week of pushing.
Reaching above shoulder. Use of fingers. Both hands required. Four hours per week of walking. Ten hours per week of
standing. One hour per week crawling. One hour per week of kneeling. Three hours per week of repeated bending.
Climbing, use of legs and arms. Both legs required. Operation of crane, truck, tractor, or motor vehicle. Ability for rapid
mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. Near vision correctable at 13 inches to 16 inches to Jaeger 1 to 4. Far
vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and 20/40 in the other. Both eyes required. Depth perception. Ability to distinguish
basic colors. Hearing (without aid).
